its an honor to the kochi port that the volvo ocean race is visiting kochi by the end of this year and will be staying there for a week and half.

It is supposed to be one of the prestigious ocean race and it happens once in 4 years. The participants are using yacht and they are wind driven. They are almost 80ft long and they can travel at a speed of 40 knots. ( note that the maximum speed attained by a ship is about 15 knots. ) This race will last around 9-10 months and one of their leg ends at Kochi, India. I am sure that this event will help kochi to invite a huge attention in the maritime and tourist map of the world and I believe this is the biggest sport event that India is witnessing this year
